Meet your Cadent engineer

Working hard to keep the energy flowing.

A day in the life of Indie. Cadent gas engineer.

Our Mission

Your Gas Network

We own, operate and maintain the largest gas distribution network in the UK. We get gas to you safely, providing the energy you need to keep you safe and warm while protecting you from harm.

We know that sometimes things go wrong and that’s where Indie steps in. As a Cadent gas engineer he’s on call to come and help, whether it’s in a home, a factory, a shop or an office. And because he’s just one engineer of many, that help is on hand 24/7.

Keeping you connected

Most of us don’t think twice about the gas that flows into our properties, heats our houses and cooks our dinners, until there’s an issue.

If you smell a leak, have a loss of gas pressure or suspect carbon monoxide - we're your first point of call.

Meet Indie.

Your dedicated gas engineer.

We need energy, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That’s why engineers like Indie are so important.

Indie visits people who are experiencing problems with their gas supply. He, and thousands like him, cover the whole of the UK.

There when you need us
and we're still there when you don't.

It takes a special kind of person to be a Cadent gas engineer: dedicated, passionate and able to think on their feet. No two jobs are the same and steely determination is par for the course.

Our engineers listen to customers, assess situations in an efficient, safe way and above all, make you feel comfortable.

Ways the Cadent engineers
help you everyday.

Indie, the calm voice in a storm

Indie’s worked at Cadent for several years. His day starts when he receives a job, either pre-planned or an emergency call out. Indie’s role is to get there quickly, liaise with the customer and fix their gas problem.

Indie’s well versed in knowing what to do, how to do it and making sure any issues are sorted speedily with minimum fuss. A job well done for Indie is sorting out your gas problem and making sure everything is in tip top working condition – the way it should be.

It’s this knowledge and experience that means he’s the perfect person for the task at hand.

Cadent and the network

There are eight gas distribution networks (GDNs) across the UK. Each covers a separate geographical region. Cadent owns and manages four of these networks – including the West Midlands, North West England, East of England and North London.

The role of Cadent and other distribution network companies is to transport gas through its pipelines to your property.

Cadent does not sell gas –  gas is owned by your gas supplier and Cadent is responsible for this gas while it is being moved through the many miles of pipe networks. Cadent works to ensure uninterrupted supply, along with dealing with leaks and fixing problems.
